About Sheffield Parkour & Freerunning
Sheffield Parkour & Freerunning (SPKF) is the Steel City’s original open parkour and freerunning community. We’ve been training together across Sheffield since 2005 — nearly 20 years of movement, friendship and progress — and everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to seasoned athletes, whatever your age or ability.
Our story
What began as a small group of friends meeting up to train has grown into one of the longest-running parkour communities in the North of England. Since 2005 we’ve introduced thousands of people across Sheffield, Rotherham and the wider South Yorkshire region to parkour and freerunning. We’re a community-led collective with no membership fees and no barriers to entry — just a shared love of moving well and helping each other progress.
Where we meet
You’ll usually find us training at Endcliffe Park and around Sheffield city centre. Endcliffe Park’s mix of open green space, steps, walls and rails makes it a perfect spot for beginners and experienced traceurs alike. We meet to train together several times a week, and our outdoor community sessions are free and open to all — so you can simply come along and join in.
See our Sheffield parkour spot map for the best places to train around the city, or get in touch to find out when we’re next meeting.
Who it’s for
Everyone. We welcome all ages and abilities, and beginners especially — no experience, kit or gym membership needed. Parkour is one of the most rewarding and accessible activities to take up in Sheffield: a brilliant way to get active, build confidence, develop real strength and meet like-minded people. If you’ve been looking for something different to do in Sheffield, come and give it a go with us.
Our community & Discord
The best way to stay in the loop with training times, meet-ups and events is our community Discord. Connect with local traceurs, ask questions, share your clips and find people to train with — whether you’re brand new or have been moving for years.
Proudly affiliated with Northern Parkour
We’re proud to be affiliated with Northern Parkour, working together to grow parkour and freerunning across the North of England — supporting athletes, sharing knowledge and putting on events that bring the wider community together.
