The Best Places to Train Parkour in Sheffield

One of the best things about parkour is that your training ground is the city itself. Sheffield, with its hills, steps, walls and mix of old and new architecture, is a genuinely brilliant place to train — and after twenty years exploring it, we know it well. Here’s a look at some of the best places to train parkour and freerunning in Sheffield.

Endcliffe Parkour Park

Sheffield’s purpose-built parkour park at Endcliffe Park is the heart of the local scene and the best place for beginners to start. With bars, walls, platforms and safe surfacing designed specifically for the discipline, it’s ideal for learning the fundamentals and building confidence. It’s also where our community trains most often — come to one of our free sessions and you’ll rarely be training alone.

Northumberland Road Courtyard

Near the University of Sheffield (S10 2TT), the Northumberland Road courtyard offers a great mix of ledges, steps and rails. It’s a long-standing favourite and hosts our regular Saturday sessions.

The city centre

Sheffield city centre is packed with spots for those who know where to look — from the open squares and terraces around the Peace Gardens and the Winter Garden to the steps, benches and low walls that thread through the centre. The city centre rewards creative movement and is perfect for flow, precision jumps and technical challenges.
