You do not need expensive kit to start parkour in Sheffield. Most beginners need comfortable clothes, trainers with decent grip, water and a warm layer. The important thing is being able to move freely and train safely on real outdoor surfaces.

Trainers matter more than brands

Choose trainers that fit well, grip reliably and let you feel the floor. Very thick soles can make balance harder, while worn-out soles can slip on rails, stone or wet concrete. Start with what you have, then upgrade only when you understand what your training needs.

Dress for Sheffield weather

Outdoor parkour means cold evenings, wet ground and changing light. Layers are useful because you may warm up quickly while moving, then cool down when watching or resting. In winter, bring something dry for after training.

The best kit is simple: clothes you can squat, climb and jump in, shoes you trust, and enough water to keep training sensibly.
